The 14th Academic Conference on Stereoscopic Imaging Technology, organized by the China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG) and co-hosted by the Technical Committee on 3D Imaging and Display, the School of Optoelectronic Science and Engineering at Soochow University, and the Suzhou Innovation Consortium for Upstream Devices and Key Technologies in Next-Generation Displays, was held in Suzhou from July 4 to 6, 2025.

The conference aimed to discuss the latest research findings, technological innovations, and applications in the field of 3D imaging and display, providing a platform for experts, scholars, researchers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas and jointly advance the development of stereoscopic imaging technology.

Yuan Junqi, Chairman of Tripole Optoelectronics, was invited to attend the 14th Academic Conference on Stereoscopic Imaging Technology (S3DI 2025) hosted by the China Society of Image and Graphics and delivered an industry report titled “Industrial Applications of Holographic Diffractive Optics.”

Yuan Junqi elaborated on topics including holographic diffractive optical materials, simulation and design, manufacturing processes, market applications, the current market landscape, and Tripole Optoelectronics’ market insights and applications. Following his presentation, he engaged in discussions with professors and experts in related fields, fostering close collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutions to lay a stronger theoretical foundation for the development of future cutting-edge products.

Holographic diffractive optics falls under the broader field of semiconductors. It is a comprehensive fundamental discipline involving holographic lithography materials, software and design for non-sequential vector subwavelength devices, holographic interference light field modulation, and manufacturing processes. It has wide-ranging applications in holographic display, holographic storage, measurement, testing, reference positioning, scanning, targeting, and security and confidentiality. It spans multiple sectors—including advanced semiconductor lithography systems, aviation, missile guidance and tracking, individual soldier operations, vehicle-mounted systems, AR and the metaverse, consumer electronics, and biomedical instruments—with market sizes ranging from tens of billions to hundreds of billions to trillions, attracting significant industry attention and representing a forward-looking strategic direction on the international stage.

Tripole Optoelectronicshas long been dedicated to holographic diffractive optics and holds a leading position in China. With over three decades of accumulated process technology expertise in holographic photoresist materials, the design and simulation of holographic diffractive devices, and the manufacturing of such devices, the company possesses a robust manufacturing foundation. It was the first in China to independently develop high-performance products such as holographic waveguides and retinal projection components.

Tripole Optoelectronicsoperates China’s largest-scale production facility for holographic diffractive devices, meeting the country’s highest standards. With a combined R&D and production area of 7,600 square meters, it is the nation’s largest and only large-scale production line for holographic diffractive devices, capable of producing millions of holographic diffractive elements annually. Its products are primarily used in military applications such as flight heads-up displays, individual combat helmets, and holographic sights; automotive applications such as AR HUDs, holographic displays, and image sensors; high-end equipment such as lithography machines; as well as consumer electronics and display manufacturers. Tripole Optoelectronicsenjoys widespread recognition and influence within the industry. Internationally renowned industry media have described the company as follows: “China’s  Tripole Optoelectronics, a company playing a crucial role in China’s holographic diffractive device market, possesses technology capable of competing with global giants.”
